Real Estate Council of Ontario Mandatory Continuing Education Program

The Sauder School of Business Real Estate Division is pleased to be an approved education provider for the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO). RECO's Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) program requires candidates to enrol in 24 credits of courses in a two-year cycle, 18 credits of which can be from any approved education provider in one of the approved subject areas.

The Sauder School of Business Real Estate Division offers a comprehensive range of top-calibre, industry-driven programs that serve the needs of the real estate community across Canada. Courses can be taken individually and at the same time build towards respected professional designations and university credentials. The advantage of taking UBC courses is that they will both expand your knowledge base as well as provide valuable credentials to strengthen your competitive advantage in the real estate profession.

Online Learning at Your Convenience: Our convenient online program format maximizes your learning experience while respecting the value of your time. You choose the time and place to study that suits you best and determine the program pace according to your schedule, to ensure you get the most out of your educational experience.

  • University Credit Courses:

Sauder School of Business Real Estate Division courses are designed to earn 3 credits of undergraduate degree studies. For students needing to meet RECO's MCE requirements, a single course will fulfil 18 credits in your two-year MCE credit cycle, plus you can carry forward 8 credits into the next two-year cycle.

For more information on the courses and programs offered, see our Distance Programs page. We specifically recommend courses BUSI 330 and BUSI 400 for RECO MCE students, but please note that all Sauder School of Business Real Estate Division courses qualify for MCE credit.

  • Continuing Education Courses:

The Real Estate Division offers a series of short online Continuting Professional Development (CPD) courses aimed at satisfying the education needs of real estate professionals. All CPD courses are offered through distance education in either a self-study format (with an online quiz) or a live webinar. Tuition ranges between $50 and $195, depending on the length of the course and the delivery method. All of the courses listed below meet RECO's MCE requirements, with between 4 and 12 credit hours available per course. Please note that these courses do not qualify for credit for UBC degree, diploma, or certificate programs.

For more information on CPD course offerings, see our Continuing Professional Development courses page.
