The following outlines the criteria for admission to the UBC/AIC Post-Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation (PGCV) program. These admissions criteria have been developed from a review of business/commerce and non-business/commerce degrees offered by major Canadian universities.

Business/commerce undergraduate degree holders (BCom or BBA):
Holders of a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree who have completed a four-year degree program and a minimum of 120 credits, and including the 12 courses noted in item 1 above, from an accredited Canadian university are eligible for admission to the PGCV program.
Business/commerce graduate degree holders (MBA general):
Holders of a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA General) degree, and including the 12 courses noted in item 1 above, from an accredited Canadian university are eligible for admission to the PGCV program.
Business/commerce specialty graduate degree holders (MBA specialty):
Holders of an MBA Specialty degree will be reviewed on an individual basis and must show proof of successful completion of all courses as per item 1 above.
Non-business/commerce undergraduate degree holders:
Holders of non-Business/Commerce undergraduate degrees will be reviewed on an individual basis and must fulfill the following requirements:
- Proof of completion of a four-year undergraduate degree and a minimum of 120 credits from an accredited Canadian university.
- Applicants must show proof of successful completion of a minimum of 36 credits (12 courses) from the list in item 1 above.
Non-business/commerce graduate degree holders:
Holders of non-M.B.A (General/Specialty) graduate degrees will be reviewed on an individual basis and must fulfill the following requirements:
- Proof of completion of a graduate degree from an accredited Canadian University.
- Courses completed in the graduate program must include all General and Core Business/Commerce education courses as specified in item 1 above.
International applicants
Holders of a degree from a US, UK, Australia, or New Zealand university will be reviewed on an individual basis and must fulfill the following requirements:
- Proof of successful completion of a degree from an accredited university, with a minimum of 120 credits of completed courses or their equivalent.
- Proof of successful completion of general/core business education courses as specified in item 1 above. Courses completed must be deemed by UBC to be sufficient in content and academic rigour.
Other international degree holders
Holders of university degrees from countries other than those specified above will be reviewed on an individual basis and must fulfill the following requirements:
- Proof of successful completion of a degree from an accredited university, with a minimum of 120 credits of completed courses or their equivalent.
- Proof of successful completion of general/core business education courses as specified in item 1 above. Courses completed must be deemed by UBC to be sufficient in content and academic rigour.
- Proof of English Language proficiency as specified by UBC.
Holders of three-year degrees:
- The normal admission requirement for the PGCV program is a degree consisting of a minimum of four years or 120 credits (or equivalent) of university study. Holders of three-year degrees will be reviewed on an individual basis.
Holders of agriculture undergraduate degrees:
- Holders of a 4 year (120 credits) agriculture degree with a major/specialization in Agricultural Business would, in general, have completed most of the business core courses required for admission to PGCV.
- Holders of a 4 year (120 credits) agriculture degree with a major/specialization other than Agricultural Business would be reviewed on an individual basis.and must fulfill all General and Core Business/Commerce education courses as specified in item 1 above.
