Excellence in teaching is provided in our undergraduate and MBA, MSc, and PhD programs. Our PhD program offers specializations in entrepreneurship and strategic management, public policy analysis, international business, and urban land economics. 

With international demand for people in the real estate industry, this valuable option provides a broad education in economic, financial, legal, public policy, and strategic aspects of real estate markets. Year 3 topics include: appraisal, asset and portfolio management, capital markets and real estate, debt financing, investment analysis, securitization, and real estate in the new economy. Year 4 topics include: business location, land real estate markets, land use regulation, real estate and government policy and real estate development.

Spanning disciplines, perspectives and cultures, the UBC MBA's Business Strategy modules develop your managerial decision-making skills and strengthen your business acumen. As part of the learning experience, this includes integrated case days, client presentations and internships or entrepreneurial projects. 

This PhD specialization covers applications of the disciplines of economics and statistics to topics of relevance for business or business related government policy. Applications include business strategy and international business drawing on insights from industrial organization and international economics. Topics in which faculty members have expertise include entrepreneurship and venture capital finance, international trade and investment; international trade policy, environmental management and policy, industrial organization, competition policy and public enterprise and regulation.

The Real Estate Division in the Sauder School of Business at UBC is known to be one of the best in the world. Our faculty sit on editorial boards of some of the top journals, including Journal of Urban Economics, Real Estate Economics, and Regional Science and Urban Economics. Our PhD program draws on the ULE faculty as well as those in Finance, Strategy and Business Economics, Management Science, Economics, and other fields.
