International students whose degrees were obtained from countries other than those listed here, such as India, China, or Mexico, are advised to:
- Write the CELPIP-G test , OR
- Submit an International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES) Comprehensive Evaluation Report that includes the language of instruction. The ICES Comprehensive Evaluation Report must clearly state that English was the only language of instruction and the Degree must be found to be equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, or higher degree (e.g., Master’s degree) in Canada. See the ICES website for more details. The ICES Comprehensive Evaluation Reports should be sent directly to the UBC Real Estate Division at the address below.
Sending ICES reports
Students must provide an original ICES report, or a copy of the ICES report notarized by a notary public with their signature and seal. Photocopies and faxed ICES reports are not accepted.
If your current name does not match the name on the ICES report, you must submit proof of your name change to the Real Estate Division, showing both the name on your report and your current name. The Real Estate Division will accept a copy of a marriage certificate, or copies of two of the following: birth certificate, SIN card, passport, citizenship card, or divorce certificate. If the above documentation is not available, you may submit a notarized affidavit confirming the name change.
