Overview

Part-time program. World class advantage.

The UBC International MBA Program, offered by UBC Sauder's Robert H. Lee Graduate School in partnership with the Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University provides an advanced business education with a truly global focus.

From the very first day you will get opportunities to apply cutting edge business knowledge in a wide range of contexts. The program includes a trip to Vancouver, where you will be exposed to the pioneering spirit of one of the most dynamic cities in the world.

What you will learn

The program begins with eight foundation courses covering Organizational Behaviour, Strategy, Accounting, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Statistics and Managerial Economics. Together with a sustained focus on Business Strategy Integration, these courses give you an essential foundation in advanced business and management techniques.

You study 13 Advanced Courses to complete your first-class business management education. IMBA courses are designed to give you an in-depth understanding of essential business functions. Throughout the courses, the challenges of global business will be a common theme.

During two action-packed weeks, you will fly to the beautiful UBC Vancouver Campus where you will enhance your business acumen through in-class learning and case studies. Plus, you will further your professional development and broaden your network through special events and programs.

Part celebration, part competition, Capstone is the culmination of all your hard work in the IMBA. In this enriching week-long business simulation you will work alongside – and compete against – your fellow IMBA candidates, who, by this point in the program, will have become friends

Program structure & duration

The UBC IMBA Program structure combines short residential periods with weekend classes. By working throughout your studies, you will be able to immediately apply newly acquired knowledge and skills in your workplace. The updated schedule for November 2023 entry will be posted soon, but feel free to look at our sample program structure.

Graduates will receive an International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) degree from UBC, and a China Ministry of Education (MOE) degree authentication for partnership programs

Class schedule

Regular class schedule

Classes are delivered at the SJTU campus every three to four weekends, as follows:

  • Friday 1:00 PM – 7:30 PM
  • Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sunday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Each course is delivered over one weekend, with the course's exam usually scheduled on the first day of the next course.
