Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO)
SVPRO is a confidential place for those who have experienced or been impacted by any form of sexual or gender-based violence, harassment, or harm, regardless of where or when it took place. SVPRO can provide information and support for anyone considering reporting sexual misconduct or those who are currently navigating reporting to the police or to UBC.
This is a safe space for all, designed to respect unique and multiple identities and experiences. All genders and sexualities are welcome. SVPRO is not designed for those wishing to file a report to the police or campus investigations, but they can help you navigate your options.
AMS Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC)
The SASC is committed to the education, support and empowerment of people of all genders who are survivors of sexualized violence. SASC provides free and confidential services to UBC students, staff, faculty and those connected to the campus community.
SASC offers:
- crisis and short-term emotional support
- support groups
- advocacy
- safety planning
- education and outreach
Report sexual misconduct
For action by UBC, you may report sexual misconduct to the UBC Investigations Office. This is separate from reporting to the police.
Healthier Masculinities Program
Help stand against sexualized and gender-based violence and work to create a culture of healthier masculinities. This program is designed to encourage male identified and masculine presenting students to get involved in creating a safe and caring community. The focus is to eradicate gender-based and sexualized violence by critically examining damaging stereotypes that society perpetuates about masculinity.
Centre for Accessibility
The Centre for Accessibility provides support and program initiatives designed to remove barriers for students with a disability or ongoing medical condition. They provide support for students with a disability or ongoing medical condition including academic accommodations, exam accommodations, financial support and assistance.
