Preventative health

The preventative health initiative

The preventative health initiative is focused on identifying viable interventions that reduce the burden of preventable diseases in Canada. Preventable diseases already create a significant and growing economic burden to the healthcare system. For many conditions, the cost of prevention is dramatically lower that the cost of treatment and the initiative will seek to identify tractable, viable and investable opportunities to pilot in Canada.  Our research has led us towards diabetes prevention, recognizing the reducing risk factors for this disease also contributes to reducing the risk factors for a number of other preventable conditions. We will provide more updates in the coming months.
