Tim Silk is an Associate Professor of Teaching, Marketing and Behavioural Science Division, UBC Sauder School of Business.
Tim's research interests include consumer judgment, decision making and attitude-behavioural consistency (procrastination, affective forecasting, monetary formats, frequency reward programs, mental accounting, consumer rebates, attribute framing, new product forecasting).
In this lecture we will explore the underlying market forces that explain how disruptive innovations put market leaders out of business. Professor Silk will discuss the early-stage mistakes that cause firms to dismiss disruptive innovations, and explain strategies that managers use to identify, prepare, and defend against disruption.
