UBC Sauder School of Business’ open enrolment and custom programs have both been recognized among the top 12 in North America in the newly-released Financial Times Global Executive Education Rankings for 2022, with both programs achieving their highest North American ranking positions ever.

For the tenth consecutive ranking year (note that Financial Times did not compile rankings in 2021 due to COVID-19), the UBC Sauder Executive Education Open Enrolment Program has been ranked among the world’s best professional development programs for managers and senior leaders, placing seventh in North America in the annual rankings, the first time it has cracked the North American top ten.

In its fourth year in ranking consideration (note that Financial Times did not compile rankings in 2021 due to COVID-19), the UBC Sauder Executive Education Custom Program – which involves tailor-made courses for corporate customers – was ranked 12th in North America.

“We’re pleased to see such incredible momentum in relation to these prestigious rankings,” says Bruce Wiesner, associate dean of UBC Sauder Executive Education. “We’re focused on ensuring our programs stay flexible, relevant and in tune with the needs of today’s business leaders. We now offer a seamless combination of virtual and in person courses which makes professional development even more accessible and dynamic. We’ve embraced an innovative mindset and that’s why I expect us to remain highly ranked as we go forward.”

The 2022 Financial Times Executive Education Rankings identify the top 70 customized and top 65 open-enrolment programs worldwide. The rankings are based primarily on measures of participants’ and clients’ satisfaction, as well as the schools’ growth in revenue, international reach and faculty diversity.

In the open enrolment category, the Financial Times highlighted the diversity of UBC Sauder Executive Education’s faculty, ranking it as 19th in the world. The “Faculty Diversity” ranking recognizes the gender diversity of UBC Sauder’s faculty instructors, as well as the impressive make-up of faculty who are from Canada and many other countries around the world. This diversity offers program participants instruction with a truly global perspective.

“We’re proud of our diverse and highly talented roster of faculty and instructors. They bring unique experiences and insights that directly benefit and inspire our clients,” says Robert Helsley, dean of the UBC Sauder School of Business.

UBC Sauder Executive Education offers a comprehensive range of open enrolment programs, from shorter courses for the broader business community to immersive weeklong programs for senior leaders, with training designed to have an immediate, positive impact on performance. Adapting quickly since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, programs began been delivered virtually, using the latest video conferencing technologies, to keep physical distance and maintain safety for our participants and instructors. Now, as we continue to adapt, programs are delivered through a seamless combination of virtual and in person courses.
