UBC Sauder Philanthropy Program Speaker Series Event

Values on Board: Non-Profit Governance

As part of its Philanthropy Speaker Series, the Dhillon Centre for Business Ethics is pleased to host a workshop for current and aspiring non-profit boards members. Join members of the UBC Sauder community – students, faculty and alumni – for an interactive session on values-driven non-profit governance.

All non-profit organizations have boards of directors that have the vital role of overseeing management and operations. Serving on a non-profit board is an important form of volunteerism or “knowledge philanthropy”. Learn about what non-profit board directors do, how to get on a board and how to bring a values lens to non-profit governance from Christie Stephenson, the Executive Director of the Dhillon Centre at UBC Sauder.

Christie delivers training to corporate and non-profit boards and has more than two decades of experience serving on the boards of cooperatives, university bodies, a multi-employer pension plan, private companies, and reporting issuers as well as non-profit organizations.
