Hear how Sarah Caven, Samuel Chen, Luk Pham, Natalie Youssef, Menaka Albuquerque and Tony Pringle have gone on to inspiring careers driving social and environmental change. It’s an opportunity to interact virtually with members of the UBC Sauder community who are passionate about responsible business as a lever for social and environmental change.

Profile

Sarah Caven

Associate Director | Creative Destruction Lab Natural Resources, Strategy & Sustainability Consultant | Sarah Caven Consulting

Sarah is a UBC MBA graduate with 10 years professional experience across Europe, Ethiopia, Canada and Latin America in the natural resources sector bridging industry, academia, international development, government, indigenous and private sector perspectives. She creates scalable impact within the natural resources industry by creating enabling environments to catalyse new types of collaboration, and developing and implementing innovative technology based solutions to resource future generations in a more sustainable and equitable way.

Samuel Chen

Analyst | CPP Investments

Samuel graduated from UBC Sauder with a finance specialization and experience in impact investing, from early stage start-ups to public equities. He was a Fund Manager at Vancouver Propel Impact Fund, where he contributed to impactful ventures for two years. Previously, Samuel has worked at Rally Assets, Canada’s first impact investing public equity fund. He is currently focused on the energy transition as an analyst in the Sustainable Energies Group at CPP Investments.

Luk Pham

Program Coordinator | GLOBE Series

Luk graduated from UBC Sauder with a specialization in Operations & Logistics and a concentration in Sustainability and Social Impact. He has a strong background in ESG research and has played a vital role in managing sustainability databases and creating ESG engagement strategies with leading companies such as TD Bank, Newmont Corporation, and Enactus Canada. Luk is currently working alongside sustainability and climate experts as a Program Coordinator at GLOBE Series.

Natalie Youssef

Investment Program Associate | Spring Activator

Natalie is currently an Investment Program Associate at Spring Activator, a B-Corp certified incubator, accelerator, and advisory firm that empowers impact entrepreneurs, investors, and entrepreneurial ecosystem builders to change the world through innovation. Previously, Natalie worked in investor relations at an equity crowdfunding company after graduating from UBC. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in Sustainability and Social Impact from the UBC Sauder School of Business.

Menaka Albuquerque

Senior Consultant | Junxion Strategy

Menaka is a UBC MBA alumna, and currently Senior Strategy consultant who excels in extracting insights from intricate data, particularly in planning, branding, social and environmental impact measurement. She has an interdisciplinary background, with education and work experience spanning psychology, logistics, fashion, consulting and project management. She's a proactive advocate for JEDI, and an alumna of impactful empowerment programs. She has found her calling in mobilizing business to be purpose-driven and is thriving at the intersection of organizational strategy, sustainability, and social impact at Junxion Strategy, an international impact consultancy and certified B Corp.

Tony Pringle

Co-Founder and CEO | Quinn&Partners

Tony, a UBC MBA graduate, is the Co-founder and Principal of Quinn & Partners, a top consultancy in corporate sustainability and responsible investment. With a decade-long track record, he aids pension plans, firms, and investment managers in aligning business with environmental and social goals. Recognized with a 2018 Canada Clean 50 award, Tony actively promotes sustainable education and infrastructure advancement.
