CEO Starbucks China

Belinda Wong is president of Starbucks China, one of the largest and fastest growing international markets. Belinda is responsible for overseeing all facets of Starbucks business in the market, including vision, growth strategy, partner and brand development. Belinda and her leadership team successfully led the talented team of about 30,000 partners and tripled the size of business in the past years. Now, with about 1900 stores across 99 cities, the China business is positively positioned to continue to capture the enormous growth opportunities and deliver the authentic Starbucks Experience that is locally relevant to many Chinese customers in Mainland China.

With almost 16 successful years supporting the Starbucks brand across the Greater China and Asia Pacific regions, Belinda joined Starbucks China from her role as general manager of the Starbucks business in Hong Kong for Coffee Concepts, a joint venture between Maxim’s Caterers and Starbucks Coffee International. In this role, Belinda managed the company’s business strategy, brand development and operations for more than 110 stores in Hong Kong and Macau.

Belinda joined Starbucks in January 2000 and has held leadership positions across a variety of business units and geographies. She started her career with Starbucks as marketing director for the Asia Pacific region, where she served in brand and category management as well as marketing, public relations and corporate social responsibility. Her experience also includes working as managing director of Starbucks Coffee Singapore where she successfully turned around the market with her leadership team.

Before joining Starbucks, Belinda was marketing manager of McDonald’s China Development Company, where she was responsible for formulating marketing strategies and plans for the China market.

Belinda holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in finance from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She serves as a member on the China advisory council for UBC’s Sauder School of business. In Fortune China’s prestigious annual list of China's most influential businesswomen, Belinda was ranked one of the top 25 consecutively in the past four years. Belinda was also listed in the 50 people shaping the future of the U.S. - China relationship by Foreign Policy, and the Top 100 Chinese Business Women by Forbes China in 2015.
